There’s a lot coming up for Moonpot in the next couple of months. Mission Control never stops building, and Ziggy is always buzzing around with new ideas for us to be working on.

We thought it would be a good idea to give our loyal Cadets some insight into these plans. So that you have something to look forward to in the upcoming months.

Some of these plans are pretty close to being live. In fact, we already released our CAKE Pot upgrade on Monday and it’s very likely we will be able to release our new BNB Pot this week too.

We’ve listed the things that are closest to being released in the Imminent category, and those that we hope to have out before the end of this year in the Upcoming category. Of course, when we’re talking about trips to the moon there is always a lot of technical and security work that needs to be done for us to really make things live. We hope you will be understanding if some of the Upcoming plans aren’t out as quickly as we hoped.

As for the Backlog category, that’s a mix of projects that are either lower priority, but still being worked on, or high priority like going Multichain but that are dependent on our partners being ready before we can build where we want to build.

So buckle up and enjoy the ride, we’re not even six months into this journey yet!

Imminent Plans

Custom Hardware Wallets

SafePal was one of the very first partners for Moonpot. Our WHO campaign with them, in July 2021, let us airdrop 1,000,000 POTS tokens to our very first Cadets. And now, 4 months later we are working with them again.

We’ve tested out some designs, and Ziggy is looking exceptionally fly on our first-ever custom hardware wallets. We’re going to be creating a batch of 300 wallets that will not be on sale anywhere, you will only be able to win them via our NFT Pots and Social Pots campaigns.

25 of the wallets will be reserved for our core team and those volunteers who help keep Moonpot running smoothly, but the rest will be available for you to get your hands on over the next 100 days.

We’ve even paid the shipping for you, so if you win all you will need to do is visit the SafePal store, enter in a code we give you, and then wait to get your custom wallet.

Everyone who gets a wallet will also be getting one of the first 300 Moonpot NFTs as well. So there’s plenty to play for.

CAKE Pot Upgrade

Well, this one already happened. If you want to learn more about the CAKE Pot upgrade, check out this article.

BNB Pot

When we first launched Moonpot we were very clear about our goal to bring blue-chip opportunities to our cadets. On Binance Smart Chain, it doesn’t get any more blue-chip than BNB itself. So you betcha, we’re bringing you a BNB Pot in the very near future.

You’ll be able to earn BNB, and some bonus POTS, every day - simply by staking your BNB, and of course you will be in with the chance to win a BNB prize. We hope CZ is proud.

NFT Pots

We’ve been teasing our NFT Pots for a while now. And now we are very close to releasing them. Part of the delay has been making sure that we had strong NFT partners for our release including the new Beefy Avatars and a few more surprises up Ziggy’s Space sleeves. We‘re pleased to announce that NFT Pots are also on the Imminent list.

We don’t want to give away too much at this stage, but someone at Moonpot HQ sat down for leek soup with Ziggy during the Captain’s most recent lunch break and heard talk of:

  • Custom Moonpot SafePal Wallets — distributed to Cadets who win an NFT from our NFT Pots.
  • NFT assets for in-game building on a new BSC game — watch this space.
  • Beefy avatars from the Beefy NFT collection — each one will be 100% unique

The Captain also let slip that while most NFT Pots will pay no APY there may be future partnerships where other projects ask Cadets to stake their native token to earn APY in that particular asset, as well as being able to win unique NFTs.

Moonpot NFTs

We’re not going to give too much away about our own NFTs. But we have heard that Ziggy made some interesting discoveries on their recent travels…

Some mysterious etchings and rare materials. It looks like this could be the very beginning of an interactive game, with our partners at galaxy.eco.

Be certain, we will be rewarding those Cadets who have consistently been a part of Moonpot from the beginning.

All we can recommend is that if you get your hands on one of the early NFTs, then whatever you do, don’t let it slip from your grasp.

Upcoming Plans

DAO Voting

We’ve been a little bit slower than we originally planned when it comes to DAO voting. There are a few reasons for this:

1. We’ve been so busy building out our core product and making partnerships that we haven’t had time for the technical work of implementing voting.

2. We’ve been listening to your feedback on Twitter, Discord, and Telegram already - and have been implementing your ideas even without having to introduce voting.

3. We want to make sure that we identify the right topics for voting so that every decision benefits the maximum number of stakeholders.

With that in mind, we are getting closer to introducing simple voting on specific topics. Some of the first topics we will put to the vote will be:

1. The size of our fairness fee

2. The frequency of Ziggy’s Pot prize draws

3. The number of winners on Ziggy’s Pot prize draws.

Social Pots

This is a feature we have not given too many details about before. We’re working towards using the mechanics of Moonpot, to improve the way all crypto projects run their social media giveaways.

We will be introducing Social Pots that let other projects tap into the tens of thousands of Moonpot holders and players as a way of verifying that every entrant into their social media contests is a genuine crypto user.

It will start with some giveaways of our own Custom Hardware wallets and rare NFTs, but eventually, we will be opening this tool up to other crypto teams and in the end any project that wants to reach a large audience.

For you, dear Cadets, it will mean the chance to win crypto and other prizes on a regular basis, without having to sign up to tools like Gleam.io. You’ll be able to take part directly from your Moonpot profile.

Speaking of which…

User Profiles

If we’re going to bring you Social Pots and somewhere to see your Moonpot NFT collection, then it makes sense that we’re also going to introduce user profiles to Moonpot.

We’re still working out the finer details of this part of our plan, and that’s why User Profiles are Upcoming rather than imminent. However, we’ve already gone through one design thinking exercise to explore how we can best present a “logged in” experience on Moonpot, and as those ideas become more concrete we will be ready to offer you that chance.

Blog Upgrade

We know that the blog could do with a little extra attention. The articles are top-notch, but it can be difficult to find all the information that you need. So we will be adding categories and search as a first step toward making our content more discoverable.

Backlog Plans

DAO Data Page

To help the members of the DAO make informed voting decisions, we want to present as much data as possible on our site.

We’re doing the groundwork for this already, collating data, working with APIs and BSCscan, and presenting some of these numbers in Telegram, Discord, and Tweets.

However, there is still a lot of work to be done before we can present this neatly on moonpot.com. First of all, we want to ensure the data is accurate and up to date, and secondly, we will need to go through the front-end tasks to make it available.

So even though this is in our backlog, please do know that we have core team members and volunteers moving this closer to being ready.

New Desktop Layout

We’ve not really updated our layout since we went live back in July. We’re at the design stage for improving how we present all of the Moonpots to you, and the only reason it’s in the Backlog rather than Imminent or Upcoming is that we have chosen to prioritize some of the new products themselves before we dedicate development time to these more cosmetic improvements.

New Landing Page

Not many people visit moonpot.com, they usually go direct to play.moonpot.com or to our blog or docs. However, we’ve identified an opportunity to use the landing page at moonpot.com as a place to educate and onboard new users.

When we have the time and the resources we’ll be making a neat one-pager that explains how Moonpot works, and how people who never played before can benefit from the platform.

Multichain

This will happen. We’re just waiting on Chainlink VRF to be available on the chains we are targeting.
